Can Barack Obama quit smoking?

There are millions of smokers around the country who have problems with a slow & stealthy killer - cigarettes.  The future President of the United States - Barack Obama - is no exception.  Barack Obama smokes.

Listen to what Barack Obama says about his smoking problem -

“I’ve never been a heavy smoker,” Obama said. “I’ve quit periodically over the last several years. I’ve got an ironclad demand from my wife that in the stresses of the campaign I don’t succumb. I’ve been chewing Nicorette strenuously.”

Supposedly, Barrack Obama wants to quit smoking before he takes office in 2009.  Obviously, Barack’s wife and kids are in full support of him quitting. They don’t want to see him turn an early grave because of emphysema or black lungs.

There’s 2 different kinds of people in the world - the optimist and the pessimist.

Optimists believe Barack can and will quit.  Will he be able to kick the smoking habit?  They say “Yes.”

Pessimists believe Barrack can’t and won’t quit.  Can Barack Obama quit smoking?  Perpetual smokers say “No.”

Here’s to hoping Barack Obama can kick his nasty habit.

Yes, President Obama, you can do it. I have been smoke free now for approximately 32 years, my wife and stopped the same year. I stopped cold turkey, and my wife stopped about 2 weeks later. She had to use a filter that was put on the cigarette, suck on the filter to feel the menthol on her tongue, then the next week she threw away the filter, and sucked on cinnamon, peppermint, other hard candies, and chewed gum. Good luck to you Mr. President, we pray for you and your family each and every day. We pray that God will give you the strength and knowledge to lead this country. God bless you and your family.
