Pucker Up Rick Perry! Glenn Beck wants to french kiss you as he votes for Debra Medina!
Here’s the interview of Glenn Beck and Debra Medina on February 11, 2010.
Glenn Beck: When I said I was going to have you on, you can’t imagine the mail, pro and con, that I received. There was a theme that ran against you and that is - you’re a “911 truther”.
Debra Media: Well, there’s lots of mud that people would like to throw at Debra Medina and make stick. The truth is I’m an everyday ordinary person. I’m fighting for the things for those very basic principles of a constitution republic. And I’m going to champion people that hold their government accountable, that hold me accountable. But that’s the first time I’ve heard that accusation so that’s an interesting one.
Glenn Beck: Let me be more frank and ask you the question. Do you believe the government was anyway involved with bringing down the world trade centers on 911?
Debra Medina: I don’t have all the evidence there Glenn. I’m not in a place. I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think very good questions have been raised in that regard. There’s some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there so I’m not taking a position on that.
Glenn Beck: The people of America might think that might be a yes. Do you have advisor’s that advise you or people who are around that are 911 truthers?
Debra Medina: Not to my knowledge. I’m not going to take a position on that for questions that aren’t answered.
Glenn Beck: Would you, if you found out there were, would you disavow them like the President should have, I mean he escorted them out in the middle of the night, Van Jones was a 911 truther - um, if you found out that people around you advising you were 911 truthers, would you disavow them or would you allow them to continue to advise you?
Debra Medina: Well you know, that’s a federal issue. We’re very focused on issues in Texas. On Texas State government, I’m certainly not into mind control or thought policing people. We’ve got a very diverse team in this state and that is because Texans are standing shoulder to shoulder to support and defend the Constitution. I frankly don’t have time to go through and do psychological testing on people to know every thought or detail that they have. I don’t see us having a team of radical individuals if you will, I think that there’s certainly some that are looking trying to use scare tactics. It’s difficult for me to answer in the context. There are definitely questions that are not answered.
Glenn Beck: Okay, thank you very much Debra. I appreciate it and best of luck to you.
After hanging up, Glenn Beck goes after her:
Problematic. Rick - I think you and I can french kiss right now! Wow. The fastest way back to 4%. Whew. Holy Cow. I mean, I’m gonna hear from people in Texas. We just ask the question. We got all the rumors. I expected her to say, “Absolutely not”.
Glenn Beck dropped the ball on this one! Glenn Beck is trying to smear Debra Medina
Go back and listen to the whole conversation. Debra answered honestly and basically said, “look, there are hundreds of questions that haven’t been answered that the American people deserve answers to.” - HOW IS THAT POSSIBLY WORTHY OF A SMEAR CAMPAIGN GLENN?!
Debra Medina is about the ISSUES. PERIOD.
She’s not about trying to persuade and manipulate. She attacks each problem individually. She is a strict constitutionalist. No wonder why people want to vote for her! You can find where she stands about the issues here - http://www.medinafortexas.com/issues.php

I think this was a very reasonable answer. We don’t know all the facts, and what she said corresponds with 60% of the 9/11 Commission, who also did not believe everything the report said.

Wow. A real person is right. Real answer. Not something made up. She was not ready for this question b/c she doesn’t talk about 9/11. She is running for Governor. You could tell Glen really didn’t like her right up front, when he was like, “Who are you?” “Who are you?” over n over after she answered the question. She is the best choice for Governor. I would take a real person and Constitution lover over corporate bought out politicians ANYDAY!
Debra Medina for President!

Really disappointed in Beck, who is about the ultimate “you-can’t-trust-your-government” guy and espouses a fair number of milder conspiracies of his own. From what I know of Medina, she believes government, especially the governor of Texas, which is all that is relevant, isn’t up front and honest with the people and it is for this reason that she wants his job. I want transparent government. Obama promised that but has probably hid more spending than anyone and I think Medina represents the views of many of us who are tired of being robbed in taxes and get nothing in return.
Heck Sarah Palin wanted to reopen the 911 investigation, Clinton promised to disclose the top-secret Kennedy files (i.e. wanted to settle the conspiracy theory). Medina may not like being in the same boat as Clinton but people campaign on promises of transparency. It is foolish to expect her to do otherwise. I thought it was good answer.
I would have been suspicious if she had said “Hell no! I trust my government to tell me the truth and always do the right thing!” Now, that would have been lame. We have a checks and balances system because we KNOW that government tends to get caught with its hand in the cookie jar.
